Underfloor heating (or UHF) installatIon is particularly cost-effective and straightforward to include as part of a new build project, however there are a variety of underfloor heating options now that can make renovations and even building updates with UHF a viable heating option too.
The experience of underfloor heating is unlike any other heating system - one of the main physical benefits is how underfloor heating feels. The underfloor heat gently radiates upwards from beneath the floor, making usually cold floors warm to the touch. As the heating distribution is even too, any cold spots or draughts in a room (that are common with radiators) are eliminated.
Warm water underfloor heating solutions use far lower flow temperatures than radiator systems, plus the UFH system covers a much larger surface area, yet it is still able to heat a room effectively and consistenly. For this reason, UFH is around 25% more efficient than traditional radiator heating systems over the lifespan of a building, rising to 30-50% for high ceiling spaces.
Underfloor heating also appeals aesthetically as it is cannot be seen. The pipework or tubing is hidden mainly beneath the floor, which also frees up wall space, making this solution ideal for open plan living or rooms such as bathrooms where space can be at a premium. Commercially underflorr heating it is a perfect solution as floorspace often comes at a premium. Being out of sight It enables the freedom in design and space planning as well as adaptability as a premises or business usage changes, plus can provide an additional customer experience in certain settings.
Finallly there is a safety aspect worth mentioning. With no exposed hot or sharp edges, underfloor heating is a safe option for young children and the elderly. UFH also provides benefits for allergy sufferers as it provides warmth free from draughts and dust movement that can aggravate conditions.
